Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture has been used for over 2,000 years.  It can be a very effective form of treating disease, illness and pain. TCM is based on the theory that in order to be healthy, one must have an abundant supply of vital energy, or Qi, and Blood.  Qi and Blood must be able to flow freely through the organs, as well as, through the meridians or pathways of the body.  If the flow is too much, too little, or obstructed, disease can ensue.  A TCM assessment will consist of questions about your history and your current condition, observation of your face, ears, eyes, tongue, and hands, as well as, any point of pain.  TCM also looks at how emotions, and the environment (weather changes and seasons) play a part in the health of the individual.

Acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping are some of the techniques used in TCM to correct the flow of Qi and/or Blood. Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which very fine needles are inserted into specific points (acupuncture points) on the body.  Moxibustion uses the herb mugwort to apply heat and warm the body.  Cupping involves the use of glass or plastic cups that are applied to specific areas of the body to rid it of excess heat or energy.

For children, or people not wanting to have acupuncture, Complete Health offers microcurrent that can be used at acupuncture points in lieu of needles. Microcurrent is a pain-less and effective alternative to needles. A complete assessment and discussion with each client will enable the most effective and efficient treatment plan to promote your improved health.
